BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino acid peptide derived from a protein in human gastric juice, also known as Body Protection Compound 157 or bepecin.  It has shown significant potential in preclinical studies for promoting tissue repair and healing across multiple systems, including musculoskeletal (tendons, ligaments, muscles, bones), gastrointestinal, and neurological tissues. Its mechanisms involve angiogenesis (new blood vessel formation) via VEGFR2 activation, anti-inflammatory effects, enhanced cell survival and migration, and upregulation of growth hormone receptors and key repair genes.
